Casa Hogar Belen (CHB) relies fully on funding support from friends and faith communities. God has been faithful over the past 37 years. In the last few years, due to the economic crisis both in the US and Mexico, many supporters withdrew their financial support. This resulted in placing CHB in extreme financial hardship. There are months without hot water and with minimal electricity. Hand-washing laundry and using wood stoves for cooking have become an alternative. The school bus often cannot be used because there is not enough funding for licensing fees and gas. The staff has been cut and the few that remain are paid minimally… Yet, God is in control! He has been there in moments of difficulty, to strengthen and bring reminders of His mercy and grace and that He will never leave or forsake CHP. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.” (2 Cor 1:3).

Please see below breakdown of our financial information.

Sources of Funding

Currently, a few churches and a handful of private supporters have been devotedly keeping CHB afloat. About 30% of the funding comes from private individual donations, CHB is eternally grateful for the contribution. CHB is committed to honoring your sacrifices by using every dollar wisely and effectively.

Funds Needed vs. Funds Received (2010-2012)

Like any family, the major bulk of expenses go toward paying the bills. To sustain a facility for 60 children and staff requires a lot of labor and is very costly. CHB is currently in debt, with several utility companies and annual taxes intermittently being paid. With the number of children CHB has, it needs to hire more staff to help out but unfortunately most of the current staff have been working without pay. CHB asks you to prayerfully consider supporting this ministry as the Lord leads, as CHB relies on His provision and trust that He will provide.
